Sonic secret

     The sun arose, Making the lake glitter and sparkle. It was a comfortable day. The wind blew lightly and the temperature of day was perfect. A leaf from a nearby tree fell of it's branch and the breeze carried it to a Small Blue house. The small blue house was rather comfy, With a living room, A kitchen, And two rooms it was perfect for a hedgehog living on his own.
     The alarm upstairs Beeped loudly and a hand slapped the alarm off. The alarm had been sitting on a small bedside table, And next to that was a twin-sized bed with a figure underneath the covers. The figure let out a groan and slowly propped himself up by putting his elbow on the pillow and resting his head on his hand. He opened his eyes about half-way and blinked a few times. He looked around and noticed that the room seemed to dance around him. He sat up straighter and a headache began to form.
     He ignored this and reached for his shoes on the side of his bed. He slipped them on and stood up. That's when he began to notice it was slightly warmer then usual. He shrugged it off and started to walk, Somewhat stumbling along.
     He began to walk towards the stairs and began to climb down them. He put a hand to his temples as his headache began to increase a little bit. Just then the phone began to ring. He answered it and a familiar females voice began to talk. "Sonic are you there?" She asked after sonic hadn't answered for a minute. "Huh? Oh yeah I'm here, What'cha need Amy?"Sonic said in slightly weaker voice then normal, Too which Amy didn't seem to notice. "Tails, Knuckles and I are all going on a search for one of the chaos emeralds. Want to come?" She asked. At first Sonic couldn't register the question for a moment, Then when he did he finally answered. "Sure. Where do I meet up with you guys?" Sonic asked. "How 'bout north of the city by the lake? That sound good?"
     "emm hmm." Sonic responded giving a slight, Unnecessary nod. "Alright, We'll see you in about an hour." Amy then hung up the phone.
     By now Sonic was sitting on the couch. He had lied to Amy. For once he wished he wasn't going to find a chaos emerald. "Damn...What am I getting myself into?" Sonic asked himself laying back against the couch cushions. He shut his eyes and within seconds he was in a deep sleep forgetting about where he had to be.

     Amy, Knuckles, And Tails had already arrived at the lake and waiting for Sonic. "Where is he? He's usually here by now." Knuckles asked. "I'm not sure. He said he was coming on the phone though..."Amy replied. "Should we make sure he's alright?" Tails asked with a worry of concern. "I say with give him ten minutes tops. If not we'll go check his house." Knuckles suggested. Tails and Amy both nodded in agreement.

     Meanwhile over at Sonic's house, Sonic was spread out on the couch, Somewhat shivering now and pale. He hadn't realized that he had fallen asleep until an hour had gone by since he talked on the phone with Amy. When he woke up again, He didn't care to move. Suddenly there were a few knocks on the door that seemed a bit deafening to him. Sonic crawled under one of the nearby blankets and started to drift back to sleep, Ignoring the intense knocking.
    Slowly, The door creaked open enough to reveal Amy. She couldn't find the hedgehog at first glance, But then saw him sprawled underneath the blanket on the couch. "Guys, He's in here." Amy called to Knuckles and Tails. Amy let herself in along with knuckles and tails. "I think he's sleeping.."Amy said to them. "But that's so unlike Sonic!" Said Tails with Worry. Amy Went over to the blue hedgehog and slowly lifted the covers to see his face.
    Sonic opened his eyes enough to realize Amy. He quickly grabbed the covers and pulled them back over his head. "Go away..."Sonic mumbled crankily. "Sonic, What's wrong?" Tails asked walking over. No response. "Sonic?" Amy asked. Sonic groaned and rolled over trying to ignore his friends and his pounding headache.
    Amy's concern seemed to grow a bit. "Sonic, It's not like you to sleep in this late..."Amy said. "I don't care right now."Sonic retorted. "Why not?" Amy said, Desperately trying to keep her cool. Sonic didn't care to respond this time. By now Amy knew something was definitely wrong. She lifted off the covers and instantly saw how pale and unwell sonic looked. "God you look awful."Amy said. "Oh really? What was your first guess?" Sonic snapped.
    Amy reached over and put a hand to Sonic's forehead. Instantly she could feel how much heat was being emitted from it and she drew her hand back. "Sonic, You're burning up!"Amy said with concern. Sonic then decided if they weren't going to leave, He was. He stood up and wobbled for a moment. "Easy Sonic!"Amy said catching him as he fell. Sonic refused by shaking his head and stood up again, This time making it to the door. He opened it and walked out. "Where's he going?" Knuckles asked. Amy and Tails both shrugged and walked after the Fever-minded hedgehog.
    The light seemed to instantly blind the hedgehog. Sonic raised an arm to shield the light from his eyes as he continued walking. He hadn't a clue where he was going, But anywhere away from his friends seemed fine to him. He didn't dare look back at them as they continued to follow him.
     With his balance off he weaved a little almost stumbling into a nearby tree. Sonic could feel the sweat pouring off the back of his neck.  He then began to feel a little light-headed. With Amy, Tails, And knuckles following behind him he gradually picked up speed. He regretted the action as his headache increased, Feeling as if someone hit him with a brick.
     With one glance back at them his eyes began to go blurry, And he could feel himself falling and hitting the ground. "Sonic!" His friends cried at the same time. They ran over to him quickly and picked him up.

     The darkness around Sonic seemed so enjoyable at the moment. He was floating effortlessly and he seemed back to his normal self. What looked like little fireflies buzzed about, Dancing around Sonic. Sonic chuckled to himself as one landed on his nose. Watching the firefly leave, Sonic went after it with curiosity to where it was going.
    Suddenly a greenish light appeared around the firefly. The firefly then fell into the darkness. The other firefly's seemed to fall down one by one until Sonic too fell into the darkness...

    Sonic slowly opened his emerald-green eyes and saw that he was back in his house. Something cold, Which appeared to be some crushed ice in a cloth was set on his forehead. He shivered from the cold and reached up to remove it. "No, Leave it there." A familiar voice said. Sonic looked around for a moment until he could finally make out the blurry images of Amy, Tails, And Knuckles. "Wh-Wha's goin' on?" Sonic mumbled, Not remembering what happened throughout the morning. "You're burning up sonic." Amy responded.
     "That's Non-sense Amy, I never get sick." Sonic replied with a tone of delirium in his voice. Amy frowned at the comment becoming more worried. "Tails, Grab the thermometer." Amy whispered to Tails. Tails nodded and walked out of the room. A moment later tails returned with an ear thermometer. "Now Sonic hold still a moment." Amy said starting to place the thermometer by Sonic's ear. "No!" Sonic refused, He then hid under the covers. "Do I have to make you Sonic?" Amy said giving a sigh. "Maybe..."Sonic giggled playfully, Slightly delirious and delusional too.
     Again Amy gave yet another sigh and pulled the covers off of Sonic. By now Sonic had rolled over onto his side so his back was facing them. His knees were pulled very close to his chest, Very similar to a curled up ball position. His eyes were closed half way in obvious Exhaustion. "C'mon Sonic, Just let me check  and then you can sleep, Alright?" Amy asked rhetorically. Sonic nodded, In a bit of a daze it seemed. Amy helped him sit up. Then she took the thermometer and stuck it into his ear.
     The thermometer felt cold inside his hot ear.
